102 A Day in the Life of Ben Chan
The day started as usual, alarm clock set at 5:30 am. I think I was too excited for this project, I woke up almost every hour to look at the clock.
I didn't know that the toothpaste can be this colorful and beautiful.
This is my favorite coffee cup.
Even the bread looks better today!
The coffee to wake me up. I am really grateful for this part of my day, quiet.
As a family physician, we do not have an 8-5 job. The work is non stop! I am off today, but for me to study peacefully at home, I decided to go to the office to clean out things in my in basket.
Welcome to the practice of medicine in 2014, computer, computer, computer.
Well, since this is supposed to be a fun project, I had some fun!
Back to the house and back to the study room. I made a decision. There are 43 days left before my board exam, I am signing out of Facebook today, trying to put all my energy into this exam. I admit, it does stress me out. What's the worst case scenario? I fail again and will take it again in November. I can handle that. Such is life. I will continue to work on my B.I.G., balance, inner peace and gratitude. I am grateful to have this off day to study.
I had a hard time studying. So, I took a break.
Lunch time!
And I took another break after lunch. My theory is, to rest the mind, we need to do something physical. I went to the golf course and practice my golf. I got infected by the golf virus in 1997 and just could not get rid of it.
Well, time to go home.
At age 52, one thing I learned is the importance of nap. Since I am not working today, and since I did not sleep well last night, it is nap time!
With the board exam 43 days away, I hit the books again. Honestly, this is the last thing I want to do.
I stayed in the study room for one hour and then gave up. I went to the yard. I realized that I really want a macro lens for my camera. It will cost around $800. I guess I better buy some lottery ticket.
I was raised with rice. My wife was not home so I made the simplest meal I can, sunny side up egg with some dried meat and rice!
Then it is time for my Tai Chi Chuan class, changed and ready to head out.
Well, it has been a long day and a fun project! I love my camera. I am looking forward to the day when I can really enjoy my day off, i.e. no need to study.
